
People have reported feeling good around salt water for centuries, and there’s a name for it: Thalassotherapy. Thalasso (Greek word for Sea) Therapy: eases everything from sore muscles to stress to neurological issues to depression. Thalassotherapy is simply being near, interacting with, or submersing yourself in the ocean (salt water), rubbing salt-laden mud or seaweed onto your skin, or inhaling sea mist to improve quality of life.

Salt water improves electrolyte balance and absorbing sodium and chloride through the skin can possibly slow the death of skin cells.
